Ownership & Funding
Last updated: August 2026.
Who owns this publication
Isuzu Owners Club is owned and operated by the small privately held company the founding editors set up to publish it, registered where the publisher does business. It has no outside shareholders and no board beyond the founders. The editors who own it do the work, so no proprietor sits above the newsroom setting a line.
We do not print the registered entity name, company number or registered office here, and we would rather say so plainly than fill the space with vagueness. If you need those details for a legal or regulatory reason, ask at support@isuzuownersclub.com and we will put them in writing. What the structure means for readers is simple: nobody outside can order us to publish something, and nobody can order us to take something down.
No parent, no party, no manufacturer
There is no parent company and no group of titles above us. No dealer group, parts distributor, fleet operator, insurer, tuning company or workshop chain owns any part of this site, which in our corner of the world is the disclosure that actually matters.
We take no state funding, no political party money and nothing from campaign organisations or political action committees. We are also, and this bears repeating on a page about money, an independent and unofficial publication with no affiliation to Isuzu Motors Limited, its subsidiaries, its dealers or its distributors. The manufacturer does not fund us, brief us, review our copy or endorse us. “Isuzu”, “D-Max”, “MU-X” and the other model and series names on this site are trademarks of their respective owners, used descriptively to identify which vehicle a piece is about, and we claim no ownership of them. Nothing we publish is official guidance; the site exists to help owners understand their vehicles and find each other. Our about page has the founding story and who does what.
Where the money comes from
Advertising is the primary revenue stream and, in most months, effectively the only one. That is display inventory sold directly and filled programmatically, plus newsletter sponsorship and clearly labelled sponsored articles. The site is free, with no paywall and no metered access.
The rest is short. We run no affiliate links today, and we will never put them inside repair or maintenance instructions, because the part you need should not be chosen by which supplier pays a commission. If we ever add them elsewhere, they will be disclosed on the page carrying them, and this section rewritten before they go live. We take no reader donations, run no membership scheme, license nothing at present, and sell no reader data or email lists. What we will and will not sell is on the advertise page.
How advertising is kept away from coverage
The rule is that commercial conversations do not enter editorial ones. Advertisers get no preview of coverage, no veto, no advance warning of a recall story that touches them, and no influence over what we examine next. Nothing is pulled because a buyer is unhappy, and no coverage is bundled into anything we sell.
In practice the editor deciding what runs is not the person negotiating a placement, and the newsroom is not told who is buying this month. Sponsored articles are written by the advertiser rather than our news writers, labelled, and kept out of our news feeds. Recall and defect reporting is never held, softened or timed around a campaign. Our editorial standards commit us to that in public, where readers can hold us to it.
Grants, donations and gifts
We accept none today and there is no application in progress. If that changes, and grant funding for technical or safety reporting is something we might one day take, the terms are set in advance. Every grant or donation is named here with the funder, the amount, the period and any conditions, published no later than the first work it pays for, which carries a note of its own.
We will not take funding earmarked for a particular conclusion, vehicle or company, or money from a manufacturer, dealer group or supplier for reporting on their own products. Anonymous gifts are refused, because a donor we cannot name is a donor we cannot disclose.
Conflicts of interest
We own the vehicles we write about, which is the reason the site is any good and also a conflict worth naming. We buy parts, tyres, fluids and tooling with our own money, we use independent workshops as paying customers, and where a long-term vehicle of ours appears in a review we say it is ours and what it has cost.
If an editor or contributor has a commercial interest touching a subject, it is declared in the article rather than on a page nobody reads. That covers part ownership of a workshop, parts business or accessory brand, paid consultancy for a supplier, and fleet work for a company we cover. We take no manufacturer-funded or dealer-funded travel or launch trips. Where a vehicle is lent for a test we say who lent it, how long we had it and who paid for the fuel, and a loan buys no editorial consideration.
Keeping this page current
Funding disclosures go stale faster than anything else, so this page has a standing job attached. If ownership changes, a revenue stream starts, or we accept a grant, this page is updated before or as the change takes effect, and the date at the top moves with it.
If you think something here is incomplete or out of date, tell us at support@isuzuownersclub.com and we will either fix it or explain why it stands. Errors of fact here are handled like errors anywhere else, under our corrections policy.
